Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) is one of the largest not-for-profit multi-academy trusts (MATs) in England. MATs are charities that run schools. We have been around since 2009 which makes us one of the longest established trusts. We are also one of the largest with almost 5,000 staff and 30,000 students.
What will you do?
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of the Estates & Environment Management function in line with the OAT strategic business and financial plan. You will design and implement the target operating model to deliver value for money construction projects and consistent building management services. The role will have lead responsibility for strategic and operational matters relating to buildings management including lettings, grounds, cleaning, catering, and other services contracts that would normally form part of soft and hard facilities management. The Head of Estates will manage teams of Regional Estates Managers to ensure all academies have access to high quality estates resources.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high level of numeracy and literacy
- Relevant qualifications in engineering/construction/surveying or a related technical discipline, combined with an excellent knowledge of construction project management.
- To be accredited by internationally recognised professional bodies such as RICS and CABE.
- Experience in a related discipline undertaking complex and high-volume projects, and expert knowledge of construction and property development industries.
- High standards of written and verbal communication skills to facilitate decision making, influence and build relationships with key stakeholders, and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
