Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) is one of the largest not-for-profit multi-academy trusts (MATs) in England. MATs are charities that run schools. We have been around since 2009 which makes us one of the longest established trusts. We are also one of the largest with almost 5,000 staff and 30,000 students.
What will you do?
The post holder will promote, develop and proactively encourage a positive safety and quality culture within the Estates team and academies, ensuring health and safety compliance and high-quality estates building management standards are set and met for each academy within the trust.
The role will have lead responsibility for strategic and operational matters relating to health and safety and quality management within the Estates Team.
The post holder will provide expert advice on all aspects of varying complexities of estates compliance and quality of maintenance which affects the Trust’s ability to achieve its estates priorities and Trust strategic plan.
The role includes responsibility for ensuring the effective development, communication and implementation of policies and procedures and initiatives to improve compliance with academies in the areas of hard and soft Facilities Management.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A proven track record of managing and successfully delivering complex projects.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely in Construction Certificate, Membership of a relevant professional body with links to the construction industry (i.e.International Institute of Risk and Safety Management, Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, Association for Project Safety, Chartered Institute of Building, etc.
- To be assertive and possess excellent negotiation skills.
- Up to date knowledge of statutory regulations and guidance relating to this post.
